A fundraiser for Pride In Place: Housing and homelessness support for LGBTQIA+ folk

You are cordially invited to a queer Christmas gathering at Mamma Chen’s for a screening of perennial favourite Christmas film, The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Friends of Mamma Chen’s welcome you to bring your friends, polycule and/or chosen family along to watch and sing along to Charles Dickens’ classic tale, as only The Muppets can tell it, and raise funds for Pride in Place.

Directed by Brian Henson, with songs by Paul Williams, The Muppet Christmas Carol features an all-star cast, featuring Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge, Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchet, Gonzo The Great as Charles Dickens, and Rizzo the Rat as himself.

Whether it’s your first or thirtieth time watching this seasonal classic, we encourage all to come together and experience this iconic film in an inclusive and accepting environment, and raise money for a good cause.

Seating is plentiful, however feel free to bring a picnic rug or pillow and start a cuddle puddle.

Pride in Place helps lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, asexual and queer people find housing. Pride in Place support LGBTQIA+ folk who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or living in housing that is unsafe, insecure or too expensive. - The screening will be open captioned for all attendees to enjoy.
- There is a video pinned to @mammachens instagram regarding accessible path & features of venue.
- The entrance of Mamma Chen's is on Albert St, with ramp access for mobility aids.
- There is an accessible parking spot and bathroom available.
- PLEASE TAKE A RAT TEST & MONITOR YOUR HEALTH BEFORE ATTENDING. WE WILL HAVE A AIR PURIFIER RUNNING IN THE BANDROOM. Masks are encouraged.
