Discover underground artists Lydia Urbina, Ampersand, Hati & Hugo and The Hive on Friday 9th August from 7-10pm. 

Presented by the iconic Cave Inn, these band’s distinct flavours will spice up your night with indie, pop, funk and neo-soul sensations. 

Why the Music Mafia? Simply put, this lineup has united as independents to share gigs, info and support each other when the industry is struggling. 

Meet the Bands:

Lydia Urbina is an answer to every music lover who has been waiting for a new breakthrough Australian artist to emerge. The Brisbane local has been cultivating her talents and experience to form a prominent music career in her own right as a singer, songwriter and performer. Joined by her band, Lydia is a soulful singer-songwriter with a captivating voice and a knack for blending pop melodies with RnB and rock undertones. Lydia is now on a mission to share her sound and find her fans as she continues to dive into the live music scene while she works on releasing her 2024 debut album. 

Ampersand is an exuberant, entertaining & ever evolving funk/neo-soul/pop fusion band featuring two spectacular lead vocalists (Katie Brown & Isi Semmler) backed by a tight, innovative trio of keys, bass & drums (Jarrod Tutbury, Jed Green & Orlando Hamilton-Craig). Noosa/Sunshine Coast locals that have become their own second family in over 3 years of gigging, they effortlessly improvise & converse musically, creating a unique performance experience. With their recently released debut EP, Entry Level, hitting goals, the gang are spreading their wings beyond their hometown. 

Hati is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and musical collaborator based in Brisbane. She’s been creating music for over 13 years and strives to develop music that lyrically and instrumentally creates an individual experience for each listener on both and extremely simplistic and musically complex level. For the first time live, she will be joined by her brand new band, elevating her soulful original music to a new level. 

Huge and The Hive is an original queer indie rock band of best friends from Gympie. They’ve been together since 2019 and that energy shines through onstage. Hugo And The Hive’s line up consists of Liz on bass, Elke-Louie on guitar and vocals, Korbin on guitar and sax, and Nat on drums and more if they are in the mood to change things up. Their influences are none other than the amazing Greta Van Fleet, Amy Winehouse, Weezer, Spacy Jane, and Ed Helms plus more. The gang plan to all relocate to Brisbane in 2025, stepping up their live shows and releasing their original music.
