The Nest - Arts & Nature Workshop
Event description
The Nest - Community Arts & Nature workshop
We explore our connection to nature and community in this 2hr workshop, set in the grounds of the Pearl Beach Arboretum.
In this workshop we reflect on the experience of nurturing, being held and tending to something precious.
We will explore the arboretum and forage for natural materials, which will be used to create a nest-like sculpture.
The completed nest sculpture will form part of the Pearl Beach Ephemeral Art Trail 2023.
As part of the workshop each participant will have the opportunity to make a clay egg to take home. The egg symbolises something precious, a dream or intention that you would like to see come to life.
- Participants of all abilities welcome to attend
- Open to ages 12+
- Workshop is wheelchair accessible
- Afternoon tea provided
- Saturday September 9 | 2- 4pm
The workshop will be facilitated by Creative Arts Therapist Liz McCarthy (Space Whale), with assistance from Sue Bradley (SWAMP).
This workshop takes place on First Nations' land. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
