The Next Movement - Madeleine Xiao's farewell/fundraising concert for London!

Hello wonderful friends and supporters,

I'm so excited to invite you to this performance, a special evening that is both my farewell concert before moving to London and a fundraiser to support the next chapter of my musical journey.

After an unforgettable journey growing up and studying here in New Zealand, I feel incredibly grateful to celebrate this milestone with all of you. I'm also thrilled to be joined by an extraordinary group of musicians and friends who have generously agreed to share the stage for what promises to be a special evening and truly a concert of dreams for me.

Joining me are acclaimed violinists Max Tan, Monique Lapins, Minglun Liu and Lorna Zhang, violist Robert Ashworth, cellist Ashley Brown, and double bassist John Mietus. Together we'll present a programme featuring everything from solo performances to intimate chamber music, larger ensemble works, and even the world premiere of a brand new composition.

More than just a concert, this evening is a celebration of the incredible community that has shaped my journey. It is a chance to reflect on the friendships, teachers, mentors, supporters and fellow musicians who have encouraged, inspired and believed in me every step of the way. I wouldn't be where I am today without your generosity and support, and I can't think of a better way to say thank you before beginning this exciting new chapter.

This concert is also a fundraiser to help make my move to London possible as I begin my Master's degree at the Royal Academy of Music. While I have been incredibly fortunate to receive some scholarships, there remains a significant financial gap to cover tuition fees and relocation and living expenses.
