Who should attend:
This course is aimed at volunteer managers and co-ordinators or anyone with responsibility for managing volunteers. This is a one day course delivered in person in a classroom setting at The Guildhall, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Overview:
This is an ideal course for busy volunteer co-ordinators who wish to gain knowledge of best practice and how to apply it. The day will also provide opportunities to network and share information. This course will cover:
- Developing a volunteering programme
- Recruitment and selection
- Support and supervision
- Retention of volunteers
Outcomes:
At the end of this course participants will:
- Understand effective recruitment methods including targeted volunteer recruitment strategies to meet organisational needs
- Learn the very latest best practice in all aspects of volunteer management including the law
- Understand how to deal with difficult situations and how to best support and manage volunteers
- Be able to use tools to motivate and retain volunteers long term
