The Nutcracker in July 2026

A ballet full of magic, mystery and Christmas spirit; whisk away those winter blues with this annual Canberra event. With two weekends of ballet performances, 'The Nutcracker In July' is the perfect school holiday activity for families and lovers of the ballet and theatre alike.

The wealth of experience from our choreographers is extensive and includes ex-professional ballet dancers from all over the globe. They have helped design a show that nurtures the local ballet talent of Canberra.

Morning Matinees have been created with children and toddlers in mind, these sensory-friendly shows will see a 30 minute interval and activities for children to do.

Note regarding seat selection: 

Seat selection is provided, however we may make minor adjustments to ensure all tickets are accessible for customers. Please try to avoid leaving a single seat between groups. 

Row A,G & H is accessible seating for people with mobility issues or assistance animals and their friends and family. Please contact us at studio@6thposition.com.au should this be sold out and you require accessible seating. Please note there are nearby green spaces, outside the theatre for assistance animal relief and children who need a quiet moment during interval.

Please note that there are 4 designated wheelchair spaces available; patrons using these spaces must purchase a wheelchair ticket and will remain in their wheelchair, as no physical seating is provided in these locations.

Parking is located at the back of the theatre with entrances on both Gozzard Street and The Valley Avenue. There is a winding ramp from the carpark up to the theatre, for wheel-chair users.

Bookings of 10+ tickets receive a 10% discount.
