Don’t miss special screenings of The Old Oak, the latest film from acclaimed director Ken Loach. Set in a former mining town in northern England, this powerful and deeply human story explores community, resilience and what it means to find common ground in changing times. Anchored in a local pub—the last place left for people to gather—the film is both a moving social portrait and a quietly hopeful reflection on connection and belonging.

Premise - Pub landlord TJ Ballantyne, living in a previously thriving mining community in County Durham, struggles to hold onto his pub and keep it as the one remaining public space where people can meet in the town. Meanwhile, tensions rise when Syrian refugees are placed there, but Ballantyne strikes up a friendship with one of the refugees, Yara.
