Description

The Orchestra Project Inc. returns to the magnificent Verbrugghen Hall at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music for its annual Easter Sunday symphony concert; performing Wagner's magnificent Prelude to Act I of his last opera, Parsifal, Strauss's Burleske, a rarely performed masterpiece for piano and orchestra with solosit Joshua Han*, and John Adams Hamonielehre, perhaps the greatest work for symphony orchestra composed in the past half-century.

Due to illness, Alexander Gavylyuk has reluctantly taken the decision to withdraw from this weekend’s performance on Easter Sunday with The Orchestra Project.

We wish Sasha a speedy recovery and look forward to collaborating with him in the near future.

We thank Sydney-based pianist Joshua Han, who has agreed at extremely short notice to step in as soloist for Richard Strauss’ Burleske for Piano and Orchestra.
