47th Annual Pacific Circle Consortium
Event description
The Pacific Circle Consortium is pleased to announce the 47th Annual Pacific Circle Consortium Conference, Promoting Resilience on the Rim by Using the Sustainable Development Goals. The conference will be in Christchurch, New Zealand on 8-11, November 2023.
This conference is focused on increasing knowledge and action to:
- share situations of resilience and considerations of how that relates to any of the SDGs
- broaden participation in Pacific Circle education and continue developing and supporting K-20 Pacific Circle educators;
- share and discuss inclusive and culturally responsive curriculum resources and strategies; and
- build community with K-20 Pacific Circle educators and scholars.
The conference theme of Promoting Resilience on the Rim by Using the Sustainable Development Goals, is in direct alignment with the purpose of the PCC by bringing people from the Pacific Rim together to discuss, engage, and share practical and theoretical ideas. By using a common context, the SDGs, the unique perspectives of conference attendees will be honored and given a platform. The conference will also be conducted with a spirit of equity by employing the Māori concept of “ako” which is the same word for learning and teaching thereby acknowledging our dual, and often simultaneous roles as learners and teachers.
