The Paintings of James Ashton at Prince Alfred College

Presented by Prince Alfred College, join Archivist Kate Pulford and special guest, Australian Contemporary Artist, and Curator Ken Orchard, for a lively discourse on the paintings of James Ashton (1859-1935). Morning tea will be served in the Main Building est. 1869, designed by colonial architect, Daniel Garlick.
From 1887, James Ashton’s association with Prince Alfred College as art master lasted nearly forty years. On his retirement in 1925, he presented the College with a large and significant collection of artworks.
Ken Orchard has been a practicing and award-winning artist since 1981. His works are held in state and regional collections throughout Australia.
Kate Pulford has been a professional Archivist since 2004 and has extensive experience with cultural collections.
