Mick Thomas of 'Weddings, Parties Anything' fame and 'The Roving Commission' has been a staple of the Australian music scene for well over 30 years.

Mick is a raconteur, troubadour, balladeer and poet and best known as the song master of icons Weddings Parties Anything. His band The Roving Commission continues this legacy featuring Squeezebox Wally on Piano Accordion, Ben Franz (The Waifs) on bass, Dave Folley on drums (Tex Perkins) and bright new talent on guitar and vocals, Brooke Taylor with Mick’s unique mix of folk, roots and country and occasional cameo by ex WPA violinist, Jen Anderson.

Fresh from another iconic run of Christmas shows at the end of 2023 – a nostalgic annual staple for Weddo's tragics with memories & feelings of yesteryear bursting out of their veins - Mick comes back to Perth at 'Hybrid Warehouse' as part of the 'Some Elbow Room' Podcast" live on stage series.

Keeping with the theme that "everyone has a story," you’ll hear funny, sad, possibly weird, heartwarming & behind the scenes stories of what it's like to live and breathe the music industry as a job. With only 100 tickets available in an intimate, rustic, vintage, warehouse setting it's a chance to get into the artist’s head. You'll be up close and hear first-hand the life of a full-time musician with all the ups and downs of being on the road in an often-brutal, ever-changing industry.

Throughout the chat hosted by Hybrid Warehouse Founder & Some Elbow Room Podcast Co-host Darren Payne, you'll get the chance to mingle with Mick over a drink or two from the 1973 Kombi Ute Bar before and after the show, he'll play a few songs educating us about the inspiration / story behind them, then you'll have the floor to ask a few questions from the crowd at the end.
