Join us for a special screening of The Plastic Country at Midland Junction Arts Centre, hosted in partnership with Hon Amanda Dorn MLC.

The screening will bring the Midland community together to explore Australia’s plastic-pollution crisis and the practical solutions needed to reduce waste, protect wildlife and safeguard our environment for future generations.

The Plastic Country is a confronting, timely and deeply personal Australian documentary that challenges how we think about plastic, our health, our oceans and the systems that shape the world around us.

Follow Kal Glanznig — filmmaker, ocean advocate and Councillor — as he investigates Australia’s growing plastic crisis, uncovering the hidden impacts of plastic pollution on coastlines, wildlife, communities and even our own bodies.

From remote beaches and stormwater drains to supermarket shelves, scientific laboratories and the halls of Parliament, this powerful documentary asks a difficult question: how did Australia become one of the world’s biggest plastic-waste producers per person, and what will it take to turn the tide?
