Hear from big wave surfer turned motivational speaker MARK MATHEWS, as we launch the first season of The Power of Awareness Podcast.

Mark Mathews is one of the world's best big wave surfers. He is now a motivational speaker after a surfing incident nearly killed him. With a shift in perspective and a powerful mindset his life changed for the better. Before the event we recommend you check out the Red Bull documentary 'The Other Side of Fear' which tells the story of Mark's inspirational journey.

Nick Dugmore from Stoke wines was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer at the age of 39. He put it out there on social media and a friend recommended Mark's documentary which gave him a massive amount of strength and drive heading into his cancer journey.

Nick met Alana Dales after she reached out on social media to say she was going through the same thing. She is 36 years old and has stage 4 bowel cancer. Her energy and positivity is contagious and the two of them have become great mates. Soon after they met Henry, whose cousin past away from bowel cancer at the age of 34. Together they have started The Power of Awareness podcast.

The goal is to help inspire others when they have a challenging life-changing experience and to raise awareness around the fact that bowel cancer is a young persons disease. Through their conversations with some incredible guests they hope to motivate you when navigating tricky situations in your own lives.
