The Pride Pages
Event description
Pride meets the page! Come along this June and join a creative writing workshop for LGBTQIA+ young people (ages 12–25). Explore character development and tell stories that celebrate queer identity, imagination, and empowerment. Through writing prompts, group activities, and community storytelling, you will create characters that you can look up to (heroes, misfits, icons, and dreamers) while finding your voice in a supportive, affirming space. Whether you're a seasoned writer or just curious, come as you are and write the story only you can tell.
Workshops will take place throughout Pride month located at the Ballarat Library, times and dated listed below. For this workshop you will need to bring your own device or book to write in.
Each week will cover a different aspect of character development, attend all for a fully developed character or just a few to get started on your creative journey.
