After winding up their national tour with The Chats and selling out their debut release Wrong Side of Town in just 24 hours, Melbourne's The Prize have hit the ground running since their successful EP launch at The John Curtin in October, including supporting Pavement at their sold-out Melbourne gig.
Forming in early 2021 and figuring out a way to jam and write songs in between rules and restrictions, The Prize developed a blend of power pop and rock and roll that's equal parts brains and bravado. The joyous five-piece bring three guitars and five voices that harmonise together to make some of the best power pop this city has heard in years, blending the hooks of The Nerves, twin leads of Thin Lizzy and minor progressions of later-era Flamin' Groovies with the fullness and power of the Ramones.
Tickets are $12 + bf in advance or $15 at the door, with stellar support from Melbourne bratwave duo Hearts and Rockets.
