The Progressive Christianity Forum 2024 Launch
Event description
You are invited to participate in this new venture, a successor to the SEMINARY OF THE THIRD AGE which over the past five years has offered a lively program for all who are interested to explore a meaningful faith in the context of our present times. The PROGRESSIVE CHRISTIANITY FORUM provides a new format for continuing this exploration.
The FORUM’s theme for the year is Where faith intersects with the critical issues for the church and the world.
THE FORUM LAUNCH (free)
On Thursday February 1st Rev Dr Sean Gilbert, Lecturer in Pastoral Studies at the Uniting College for Leadership and Theology will be the guest speaker to launch the new FORUM. Sean's theme will be ‘The only wisdom we can hope to acquire is the wisdom of humility: humility is endless.’ (from East Coker by TS Eliot).Â
THE FORUM FORMAT
Following on from the launch, sessions will occur on the first Thursday of each month at 7.00pm. Each FORUM topic will be presented by a thought-provoking presenter who will encourage those present to reflect on their own faith journey.
Anyone can attend, young or old, of faith or no faith. All sessions respect the diversity of backgrounds and views of participants.
