The Queenstown Dog Walk
Event description
The Queenstown Dog Walk returns this year and will take place on Saturday 27 February at Matakauri Park. We'll be meeting at the northern end of the Community Gardens (map to come) at 10.00am, then heading off on one big dog walk once everyone has had enough time to chat, mingle and mark territory.
All are welcome to attend this FREE community gathering, so don't miss the poochie calendar event of the year!
**COMPETITIONS**
Much like last year, we've got two competitions running on the day and plenty of cool prizes to giveaway to lucky dogs. The competitions are:
1. Best dressed dog
2. Dog registration bingo
Prize packs include everything from vouchers and dog massages to beds, grooming sessions and plenty more.
**MORE INFORMATION**
On the day, QLDC Animal Control staff will be available to help with any microchipping questions or needs, and advise on our Dog Control Bylaw 2020. We'll also have our photobooth on site for anyone looking for a family photo with their four legged friend!
Matakauri Park is now an 'on leash' place for walking dogs, so remember to #TakeTheLead. The walk is estimated to take 35 minutes.
**SUPPORTERS**
Both the Queenstown and Wānaka Dog Walk wouldn't be possible without the amazing supporters who have donated goodies, gear and plenty more to be used on the day and given away. We'd like to give a massive thank you to Mates4Life, Wanaka Dog Walking, Dr Dog, The Barking Mad Dog Co, Wet Nose, Vetlife Wanaka, New World Wanaka, Flip at Remarkable Dogs, Puppy Love, Posh Paws, the Queenstown Dog Bakery and VetEnt.
