    Event description

Brisbane Girls Grammar School warmly invites you to a two day drama workshop hosted by Red Leap Theatre on Friday 16 August and Saturday 17 August 2024.

Red Leap is an internationally renowned devising theatre company, based in New Zealand, that is dedicated to innovating theatrical form through the intersection of dynamic physicality, arresting imagery, and inventive original storytelling.

On Friday evening, educators will gain valuable insight into Red Leap’s devising process and unpacking of their performance style and conventions in a presentation. Company director, Ella Becroft and an accompanying company member will discuss their practice, featuring examples from the company’s repertoire, including Dust Pilgrim.

Saturday’s highly practical workshop will explore Red Leap's physical devising exercises. Attendees will explore a variety of approaches to source material, looking at how to get students out of their heads and quickly into building dynamic, visually arresting work. The workshop is able to accommodate active and observer participants, please select your preference in the registration process.

Attendees have the option to attend one session, or both at a discounted rate. Further session and ticketing information can be found here.
