In a sector where resources are stretched and demand continues to rise, working harder isn't the answer. Working together is.

The future of sustainable impact lies in collaboration, not just partnership in principle, but practical, structured resource-sharing that strengthens organisations while expanding community reach.

This interactive session will explore how non-profits can rethink traditional operating models and embrace innovative ways to share staff, skills, systems, knowledge, funding opportunities and even physical spaces.

Together, we'll unpack:

Reducing duplication of services
How smarter collaboration can minimise overlap, improve efficiency and strengthen service pathways for the communities we serve.
Sharing people, skills and expertise
Exploring how organisations can dedicate human resources to a shared cause through secondments, volunteers, skilled professionals, cross-organisational teams and collaborative leadership to maximise collective impact.
Unlocking community and corporate resources
Looking at innovative ways organisations are leveraging support from businesses, community groups and other organisations, including donated expertise, equipment, venues and shared spaces that enable services to operate without significant additional cost.
Forming micro-alliances to reach more people
Creating nimble, purpose-aligned collaborations between organisations to deliver targeted, high-impact initiatives.
Real-world examples of resource sharing
Practical case studies of shared roles, co-located services, joint funding applications, collective infrastructure and creative resource pooling that have increased impact without increasing costs.

Panel Conversation: Collaboration in Action

Facilitated by Megan Smith, this panel discussion brings together Michelle Faithfull, Events & Partnerships Manager at Home in Place and Chairperson of Hunter Homeless Connect, and Alex Rees, Chairperson of REACH Homeless Services, to share their experiences building genuine collaborative relationships across the homelessness and community sectors.

Drawing on examples of how Home in Place has embedded dedicated human resources to strengthen Hunter Homeless Connect, and how REACH has leveraged corporate partnerships, shared spaces and community support to expand its impact, they'll discuss:

What successful collaboration looks like in practice.
How dedicated people, shared expertise and trusted relationships can amplify impact.
The role of corporate partnerships, donated resources and shared community spaces in expanding service delivery.
Lessons learned from shared initiatives, partnerships and collective problem-solving.
How trust, relationships and a shared vision can create better outcomes for communities than any organisation can achieve alone.

When we share wisely, we don't just reduce costs, we multiply impact.

This is about shifting from competition for resources to collaboration for outcomes.
