Sai and Eve will distill their years of unique neo-Shibari performance techniques into a class on connective, engaging and personalised externalisations.
This class is for you if:
you have any interest in public play as an exhibitionist
are drawn to the artistry of not just the ropes but the interplay of the energies between players
want to translate the beauty of the internal experience to the external
want to hold public space in an engaging way whether through performance or ritual
The difference between a private Shibari practice and a performance / public space is huge - and this workshop addresses the key differences and the big question of how to translate an intense internal experience to one that can be effective in a shared space.
This workshop is NOT rope focused - rather we will focus on techniques of connection and how to be AUTHENTICALLY performative in the context of Shibari; this means we focus on bringing the genuine feelings that one experiences in ropes out in a form that can be felt and appreciated by an audience, not just the top and bottom in the scene; and in a way that is true to the unique connections between them.
Knowledge Requirements: basic rope knowledge (single column, double column)

Sai Jaiden Lillith
Sai Jaiden Lillith is a Melbourne based gender fluid prodom/me, escort, activist, educator, creator of visual erotica, artist and Shibari addict. Known for their gorgeous and creative rope work and performances, love of exploring taboo and transgression, Sai Lillith has been practicing the art of Shibari since 2016, and performed 100’s of times, tied countless bodies and taught numerous group and one on one classes. Eve X
Eve X is a Shamantrix, Bizarrlady, flesh artist and aerial performer. An erotic guide, pornographer, activist & educator, and founder of Sacred Primal Arts / Australian School of Sexuality, Eve integrates esoteric arts into experiences of ecstacy and ordeal. A history of chronic pain led to an interest in mindfulness & movement techniques.
Infernal Desire Machine
Infernal Desire Machine are traditional Shibari with a punk aesthetic; tender and violent intimate sex magick rituals in rope, visceral invocations of romance & magic, ordeal and catharsis, chaos and order. The core of IDM is composed of Sai Jaiden Lillith and Eve X, genderfluid sex workers / witches, life partners and collaborators in art, education and business. Sai and Eve have been performing together since 2019 and are dedicated to a life exploring eroticism, sexuality and connection. Created with the spirit of collaboration in mind, IDM have incorporated audience members and other artists into their rituals, as well as weaving performance to live music with Cheap Coffins, ZIVA, The Omega Point and Enryka. Described as "spell-binding", "incredible", "world-class shibari", together they perform anarchic narratives that interrogate myth & power, flesh and desire.

- What's with your sliding scale pricing?
We have added a pay-what-you-can/want ticket - to help support the community and those who may not be able to afford the full price ticket, this is an option where you can pay what you can from a minimum limit. There is no upper limit on this ticket, so if you feel like subsidising those who purchase lower priced tickets, or giving a little extra to the facilitator to support us, this is your option!
We believe in both accessibility for the community, as well as making sure our facilitators are paid appropriately for their erotic / intellectual labours, so this is our solution to hold space for both with a minimum of fuss!

Perfect for supporting the ass of your rope dancer as they sky dance, and rigorously road tested by Eve X in Infernal Desire Machine as well as many other rope bottoms, with the consistent feedback of being the most comfortable hip harness! You’ll learn - pattern - engineering concepts - details on tension - load zones / stress points - adjustments to suit a range of bodies and purposes. Knowledge Requirements: Single Column, Half moon lock, basic hip harness construction (there will be limited time to learn these concepts in class time, however you are always welcome to attend regardless of skill level) Partner Required: This workshop is best attended with a partner - if you are travelling solo we will do our best to pair you up however we can’t guarantee this.
