The Round — Sunday tour

The Round is the new cultural hub for the Whitehorse community. Welcoming and inspiring, it is a place for both everyday and special events. As a premiere performance and events facility, it is home to a diverse range of local community and business groups, artists, performers and patrons alike.

The building’s curvaceous perimeter creates a series of opportunities for placemaking and community programming. Unified by the use of bricks— some big, some small—each of the building's five faces forges a robust, enduring and proudly civic presence that responds to its immediate context.

The new precinct integrates architecture, landscape, ecology and infrastructure into a new and engaging model for a suburban civic centre.

What's On

The architectural team will provide a behind-the-scenes tour of The Round. Join BKK Architects, Kerstin Thompson Architects (KTA) and The Round team for a personal tour of the building. Gain an insight into the running of a world-class performing arts centre and see how creative visions are brought to life.

Tour participants are also invited to join a panel discussion with Whitehorse Council and the architects Sarah Cooper (Interiors) and Claire Humphreys (Architect) from KTA and George Huon (Principal, Architect) from BKK, who will explain the process from competition through to completion.
