This hands on workshop will walk through how we use microbes to create the unique flavors in fermented foods such as kimchi, kombucha, and yogurt. We will discuss the history of fermentation, food safety, and how modern microbiology helps us make delicious fermented food. Participants will start to create their own fermented food with a yogurt culture to take home.
