The Science of Intention
Description
Manifestation is everywhere. But what happens when we remove the buzzwords and look at the brain?
The Science of Intention is an intimate 60-minute experience with Dorcey Rutter exploring the neuroscience behind meditation, gratitude and visualisation — and how these practices can influence attention, emotion and behaviour.
We begin with the science.
You'll learn what's happening when attention wanders during meditation, why returning is part of the practice, and how the brain represents signals coming from within the body.
Then we'll close our eyes for a 10-minute guided gratitude meditation — shifting attention away from what's missing and toward what is already present.
Tea in hand, we'll put pen to paper and explore something you'd genuinely like to move toward.
Then we'll look at visualisation differently.
Not as magic. Not as asking the universe for something.
As mental simulation — the brain's ability to construct possible future experiences — before moving into a guided future-self visualisation designed to bring the imagined future all the way back to one thing you can actually do next.
You'll leave with more than a meditation.
You'll understand the science behind the practice.
No experience required.
Tea and writing materials provided.
