The search for missing persons - how digital footprints can assist
Event description
Brought to you by
As part of Australian Cyber Week and Community Day, Linda Cavanagh, Founder of National Missing Persons Hackathon, will facilitate a panel discussion with leading OSINT experts, law enforcement, and an investigative journalist about the search for missing persons and how digital footprints can assist or disadvantage an investigation.
This Canberra-based event will be followed by a catered networking and an OSINT training session with OSINT Combine. Linda will also provide an exciting update on the Hackathon 2023 event.Â
The inaugural National Missing Persons Hackathon occurred in 2019, delivering the first large-scale, crowdsourced open-source intelligence gathering of its kind in Australia for missing persons, and a first for a country to participate simultaneously in this manner. The event was successfully run in 2020, tripling the participation and the volume of submissions to police.
The event will be followed by a catered networking event and an OSINT training session with OSINT Combine.
