The Secret Preoccupations of Flora Obsessed Creatives
Description
What draws some creatives to use natural flora as a key material in their work?
With stunning images of art and design, hear why panel members are drawn to plants to scratch their creative itches.
Facilitated by Sky Allen who is an urban designer that moonlights as a floral installation artist. Joined by designers and makers including Kate Cullity (Taylor Cullity Lethlean) and Rebecca Trevitt (Ponder Posy) and other creative friends for what promises to be an intriguing conversation.
The panel will discuss how the flora in our everyday might better celebrate our particular time and place. What if instead of seeing the often-generic repetitive palette of plants and flowers in our open spaces, front gardens and even in the florist arrangements we gift each other... instead the mix of flowers and flora richly reflected the particular sense of place of Tarndanya/Adelaide?
This panel talk includes artists from associated 'Sporus gestaltioides' exhibition.
