    Presented by the #PooniSisters and supported by South Asian & Tamil Women’s Collective and Laadliyan, join us for an evening of community and culture featuring Jeeti Pooni‘s The Silent Stoning 📚

    Jeeti Pooni’s life story is one of courage and determination, navigating through trauma and adversity. The Silent Stoning offers a raw and genuine perspective on overcoming childhood sexual abuse. Dive deep into the heart of the story and explore themes of survival and breaking the silence as Tina Singh reads a passage.

    This book signing will feature a Q&A session with Jeeti Pooni moderated by community champion Chand Bhangal where the audience will have an opportunity to engage and ask questions. There will also be a guided exercise on embracing innocence to shed light on the journey to healing. The evening will feature captivating musical performances by local talent ✨

    About The Silent Stoning
    Written in a series of letters, Jeeti shares a lens into her life while living under the control of her abuser and the female shaming that is the passed-down norm in her Culture. Groundbreaking and long overdue, The Silent Stoning is a raw, heartfelt, and genuine account written from the eyes of a person who has been victimized and survived childhood sexual abuse. Books will be available for purchase for $30 cash/etransfer (no refunds).

    Featuring

    • Jeeti Pooni is a motivational speaker, author and childhood sexual abuse survivor. Jeeti Pooni has inspired audiences worldwide to own their stories, speak their truth, reclaim their inner power and have honest conversations about how to make cultural change in organizations and communities.
    • Tina Singh is an occupational therapist, digital content creator and mother. Tina speaks about advice on motherhood, being a first generation Canadian, entrepreneurship and parenting from the lens of an Occupational Therapist. In 2019, Tina started a podcast called One Take With Tina where she addressed heavier social issues such as human trafficking, racism, domestic violence and mental health.
    • Chand Bhangal (she/her) is an activist and content creator from Brampton, Ontario. She is passionate about decolonization, raising awareness about colourism and authentic representation of BIPOC culture and communities. She has experience in poverty reduction work, GBV Awareness Campaigns and creating safe spaces for BIWOC.
