The Sinnermatics
Event description
The Sinnermatics are time travellers from the dawn of rock’n’roll.
We hail from the atomic age, when the sound of youth rebellion exploded like a bomb. An era when people dressed as sharply as the fins on the stylish cars they drove.
Rockabilly was a primal strain of this new dangerous music – fusing black rhythm and blues with white country styles – pioneered by the likes of Carl Perkins, Billy Lee Riley, Johnny and Dorsey Burnette, Gene Vincent, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly and the heppest cat of all, Elvis.
The music industry spivs quickly tried to suffocate rock ‘n’ roll, smoothing off its rough edges.
The Sinnermatics play rock ‘n’ roll as its originators intended.
As redemption for our sins, we’ve been spared the fiery pit and thrown forward in time to preach the gospel of rock ‘n’ roll to new audiences.
Now as Carl Perkins once sang: "It's almost dawn and the cops are gone, let's all get Dixie fried."
