THE SIX PERFECTIONS
The six perfections are practices of the Bodhisattvas, holy beings who have completely renounced the self and cherish only others. A Bodhisattva generates infinite merit, whether they are outwardly engaged in working for others or not. The six perfections are Generosity, Ethics, Patience, Joyous Effort, Concentration and Wisdom. Each of the six perfections is supported by the others.

We don’t need to become bodhisattvas ourselves to engage with the six perfections — we become bodhisattvas by practising them. In this series of talks, we will look deeply into the meaning of the six perfections and explore how we can integrate them into our lives. In our June and July classes we will cover the following remaining two perfections.

As well as the talk, the sessions will include meditation and discussion, and there will be time for questions and answers, with a short break in the middle. You are welcome to attend the whole series or individual sessions if you wish. There are limited places, so please register so you don’t miss out.

ABOUT VENERABLE DEKYI
Venerable Dekyi met the dharma in 1992 and realised immediately that there was no other way for her to live. She was ordained a year later. Ven Dekyi has studied the Buddha dharma in depth, taught at a number of FPMT centres including Tushita, Dharamsala and also at Vajrayana Institute, Sydney. She has a broad understanding of secular life and the dharma. She completed many of the topics of the Basic Program at Chenrezig Institute before moving to Vajrayana in 2019. Venerable Dekyi resides at Vajrayana Institute and we appreciate her availability greatly. She has a warm and down-to-earth teaching style.
