The Small Poppies - Sat 14 June
Anita Murray Theatre
St Ives NSW, Australia
Event description
It’s 1985 and about to be Clint’s first day of school and he doesn’t want to be there. His best friend Maria is about to move away and Clint is terrified of school bully Shane. Clint’s mum has a new boyfriend, Theo is obsessed with kangaroos, Lep’s lunchbox smells and school principal Mr Brennan is struggling to work out the newest innovation, a computer.
'The Small Poppies' by Australian playwright David Holman is a hilarious and wholesome glimpse into the rite of passage of starting “big school”. Clint and his classmates show how with a little tolerance and understanding, even a five year old can work out exactly what matters.
