Paradise Bookshop is thrilled to host the first meeting of The Silent Society of Readers (TSSR)– a quiet, immersive literary experience that invites people to read alone, together. Bring your current read or browse the shelves for something new. Then find a seat and settle in. No pressure to talk. No performance. Just the quiet companionship of strangers doing the same thing.

Guidelines:

There are lots of quite corners but not a lot of comfy seating, so please BYO cushion, camping chair or yoga mat.
We'll provide warm cups of chai, fresh fruit and heaters to keep you nourished and cosy. Feel free to bring your own favourite snacks and non alcoholic brews.
There will be the option to leave your phone securely in a basket at the front counter should you wish to fully disconnect.
And if you don't have a current read, we can certainly help you find one among our 14 rooms of new and second-hand!

The Society of Silent Readers transforms reading from a private act into a gentle shared ritual and carves out some dedicated and intentional time in our busy lives for reading!
