The Spoken Word Soirée #3: Liminality - The Space In-between

Calling poets, writers, rappers, lyricists, wise women, word weavers and wonderful listeners of our community. On July 23, join us at Heaps Good Food Store, Mullumbimby, for our 3rd Spoken Word Soirée. 

This month, we seek inspiration from the spaces of liminality, in leaning into the space in between. Liminality exists in physical spaces like hallways, airports, or waiting rooms. In empty homes between moves. Metaphysically, it is between states of being: the dawn, dusk and dreams of our lives. Within life's transitions and rites of passage: birth, adolescence, graduation, orgasm, pregnancy, career change, moving, grieving a loss.

The floor is yours as we invite you to interpret this expansive theme, held in a safe container for vulnerability and deep listening. 

This community event welcomes everyone; the mic is open to sharing work(s)-in-progress, favourite poems, songs, slam poetry, prose, as well as spontaneous, channelled musings. The work can be your own or from other authors whom you admire and cite. 

Email storiesbysophieau@gmail.com to perform. You’ll have three minutes to express and share. Performance is optional; come along for a bite to eat, to listen and to seek inspiration.
