The Stories of Our Bodies
Event description
We often believe we can know about other people based on what we see of their bodies… but can we really? Often before we're conscious of it, we might label, compartmentalize or judge others and it can be a real struggle to relish our own bodies when this judgement is in front of a mirror.
A healing and liberating workshop crafted for the LGBTQIA+ communities and allies. Each participant is invited in turn to share the story of their body from birth till now, removing articles of clothing as they do, in a circle firmly held in tenderness and respect. Stories might include histories of health, injury, ability, gender affirmation, addiction, aging, modification, shape and size.
What stories do the marks and folds of your body tell? Please join us and share them.
