About the Venue - Bucketty's Brewing Co, Brookvale

There is so much to learn about Bucketty's and its humble beginnings.  It's a family owned business with much blood, sweat and tears making it what it is today.

I can't think of a better place for Story Room Aus to call home, after-all beer and stories are like peas in a pod, they just fit perfectly.

The Food

Check out the menu. You certainly won't starve to death while you listen to some great stories. We are however trying to learn how many people might buy meals, as Nick the owner will open the food truck especially for us.

Meet the Storytellers (in no particular order)

Clare Edwards

Clare grew up, the youngest of 5 in Liverpool, UK. While her Mum busied herself with the 4 older siblings, Clare managed to spend precious time with her dad, and that’s where her interest in storytelling began. Kevin Edwards was a gifted storyteller and could keep Clare enthralled (and quiet which was a feat in itself!) with his tales of great explorers, fairytales embedded with lessons for life or simply stories that he made up as he went along.

No different to many, Clare’s life to date has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, stories of which she shares in many of her programs. One of the lasting highs was meeting ‘Jason from Maroochydore’ at a music festival in London, which is how she came to be downunder.

In her career as a leader in corporate business, Clare experienced first hand the power of story to inform, involve and inspire and she uses metaphor and story in her speaking, training, coaching and facilitation business today, leading workshops nationally and internationally.

In her corporate Storytelling workshops, Clare helps leaders to uncover the stories within and to share them with grace and authenticity. She is the author of ‘A Sprinkling of Magic’ a workbook for communicators and educators that helps people to engage and captivate their audience with inspiring stories and metaphors that give real meaning to their message.

Rob Manning

After a pretty amazing professional career in Telecommunications & IT and at the age of 54 I was diagnosed with end stage liver disease considered terminal within 12 months.  Lasting only 6 before collapsing into a coma due too organ failure and respiratory collapse I spent 2 weeks in a coma. Since recovering from the life saving transplant I have advocated for changes to Organ & Tissue Legislation across Australia with success in 3 states and at a national level. In the last two years I have also won a federal grant to conduct Environmental remediation on Tuggerah Lakes which has resulted in a new unplanned career as the General Manager of SORR Pty Ltd and growing the company to an international market in Oil Spill retention & remediation and cleaning the world one water wat at a time.  I have had a second chance to be a husband to my wife, father to my son and play the sport of Australian Rules again and much more as the result of a loving and compassionate family’s decision to donate their loved ones organs when they had tragically passed.

Simon Feldman

Have you hit a rock bottom in your life? Simon Feldman's rock bottom included lengthy time in jail, after being found guilty of embezzling over $16M. Simon made the decision to own the mistakes of his past and is paving the way for a redeeming future.
