The Stuart Highway part 1 album launch - David Garnham, Gleny Rae, Stuart Joel Nuggett & XAVIA
Event description
The Stuart Highway part 1 is the first instalment from a double concept album where all of the songs tie back to the 2,834km of bitumen from Port Augusta to Darwin. To coincide with its release four acts are hitting said road, to share songs full of truths, half-truths and tales as tall as the highway is long.
David Garnham & the Reasons to Live look like truckers but sing like angels. Slacker country from the top end.
Gleny Rae will have you wrapped around her finger in no time - a powerhouse of charm, humour and candour, she swims between all of the good genre's, and even make you enjoy the bad ones.
Stuart Joel Nuggett is a Jingili man from Elliott, now based in Alice Springs, singing in English and the severely endured language of Jingulu. Stu is passionate about the plight of his people and hopes that through his songs he can connect with audiences from all walks of life.
Live-looping cellist, multi-instrumentalist, and songstress XAVIA creates dreamy electronic folk, blending swirling strings, earthy rhythms, and soaring melodies.
