The Sydney Sessions - A personal growth weekend for teens with Lorra Dailey from Thriveable
Description
A PERSONAL GROWTH WEEKEND FOR TEENS With Lorra Dailey from Thriveable
2-4 October 2026, Bondi Beach. Ages 13-17
Day program only
WHY THIS WEEKEND EXISTS
I'm Jodie Livingston, a Sydney based creative, mum and the person behind this weekend. I met Lorra in Fiji. She was running a kids mastermind and I sat in the back and watched something I hadn't seen before. A group of tweens and teens, phones down, actually leaning in. Not because someone told them to. Because Lorra is young enough that they hear her. The messages parents and teachers have been trying to land for years.. about self worth, boundaries, big emotions, real friendship... she gets through in a morning. I watched it happen and knew I wanted to bring that experience to Sydney.
WHO IT'S FOR
Teenagers aged 13 to 17. Boys and girls. Teens who are ready to think about who they are and who they want to become, before the world tells them.
WHAT WE'LL WORK ON
Thriveable is built on five pillars, and this weekend brings them to life
Genuine relationships. Authentic friendships don't happen by accident. We create space for the kind of real conversation that builds bonds that last.
Kindness and contribution. The secret to living is giving. We work on generosity, service, and the value of showing up for others.
Healthy habits. From mindfulness to how they move their bodies, the earlier these habits start, the more they compound.
Accountability. Supporting each other to step into what we're capable of, not buying into their limitations. Every teen leaves with a small pod of peers who've got their back.
Emotional intelligence and communication. Understanding themselves, understanding others, and knowing how to navigate the hard conversations they're already having.
WHAT THEY'LL LEAVE WITH
By the end of the weekend, they will walk away with
Greater confidence in who they are
A stronger sense of their own values and identity
Tools for navigating friendships and communicating more confidently
Practical tools for goals, healthy habits and emotional wellbeing
The courage to try new things and move beyond their comfort zone
A clearer vision for the person they want to become
New friendships and the feeling that they're not doing adolescence alone
A community they can stay connected to
A broader perspective, and a deeper sense of empathy, gratitude and their ability to make a difference
THE WEEKEND
Friday 2 October is the warm welcome. A relaxed meet and greet early dinner and hang in Bondi so the teens can land, meet Lorra, meet each other, and start the weekend feeling settled. No pressure, no program. Just hanging out and getting to know the room.
Saturday 3 October is the heart of the weekend.. a full day with Lorra. Small group work, interactive workshops and hands on challenges, the teens will explore confidence, communication, friendships, values, healthy habits and the beliefs that hold them back. They'll be encouraged to think more deeply about who they are, what matters to them and the kind of life they want to create, while building practical tools they can actually use in everyday life. Lunch, snacks and drinks are included. The day closes with a parent debrief and drinks so you leave knowing what your teen worked on and how to keep the conversation going at home.
Sunday 4 October (optional) Sunday morning we take it outside the room. We've partnered with Kids Giving Back, a not for profit organisation with a mission to create Generous Generations. Together, the teens will take part in a meaningful, hands on experience preparing nutritious meals that will be donated to people experiencing homelessness. The program is interactive, engaging, and includes a relaxed discussion around homelessness and community impact. It's a powerful way to close the weekend, moving from understanding themselves to seeing the difference they can make for others.
WHY LORRA
Lorra Dailey is one of the most compelling young voices working in teen personal development today. She is 21, but her work with young people began at eight, when she first stepped into a personal growth room. By 12, she was training alongside adults twice her age. By her late teens, she had built Thriveable, the US based company through which she now runs programs, intensives and camps for teenagers and the schools that support them.
She is a certified Trainer of NLP and trained in Appreciative Inquiry, two of the most respected frameworks in behavioural change work. She has worked directly with hundreds of teenagers across the US, Asia and Latin America. Schools fly her in. Nonprofits hire her. Communities invite her back. She has spoken for Keller Williams, Acton Academy, and on podcasts reaching hundreds of thousands of parents and educators.
What makes Lorra different is her ability to reach young people in a way adults often can't. She understands the pressure, noise, identity work, phones and loneliness because she's close enough to their world to understand it, while having the tools and experience to help navigate it.
I'm bringing her to Sydney because what she does is rare, and because I know firsthand how much this kind of guidance is needed. You can see her work at https://www.instagram.com/lorradailey
WHY ME
I'm Jodie Livingston. For fifteen years I produced documentary films about young people living in hard places, screened at Cannes, awarded at festivals internationally, and partnered with organisations like UNICEF. My whole career has been about finding people who haven't been heard, and helping them tell their story. I'm also raising a teenager. Between lived experience and years of listening to young people, I've seen the gaps clearly. Phones, algorithms, comparison, and voices they should never be listening to are pulling teens in the wrong direction. I'm building the opposite. Experiences, spaces, and ongoing community that pull them back to themselves.
I'm certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid, trained in adolescent girls' health and performance, and completing the University of Pennsylvania's Foundations of Positive Psychology with Martin Seligman. But the qualification that matters most is what I've lived, and what I've built for the young people around me. This is what I wish had existed when I was looking for it. Now it does.
THE ROOM
This is an intentionally intimate group and we're curating the room carefully. Once the seats are gone, they're gone.
