The Tales of Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea

More than a century ago, Beatrix Potter used her talent—and her own resources—to create a legacy that still endures. While her stories have sold over 100 million copies, her greatest impact may be the land she preserved, the communities she supported, and the generations of children she inspired. 

We invite you to be part of that same kind of legacy. 

The Johnson County Public Library Foundation is hosting The Tales of Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea, a charming fundraising event celebrating one of the world’s most beloved children’s authors. Guests will enjoy an elegant afternoon of tea, whimsical décor, and community fellowship—all in support of children and literacy. 

Proceeds directly benefit the Foundation’s Explore Summer Endowment, which supports funding the Explore Summer learning program for decades to come. This important educational experience keeps young minds engaged, curious, and reading all summer long. 

Without access to books and learning opportunities over the summer, many children experience “summer slide,” losing critical academic progress. Library summer learning programs are proven to close that gap—and for many families, it is a highlight of their summer. Your sponsorship helps ensure these opportunities remain accessible to all.
