The Travellers
Event description
What happens when an eccentric group of musicians who travel on foot, attempt to survive beyond the outskirts of a suburban society? The struggle is magnified when their leader separates from them and explores the possibilities of living in the forest.
The music, singing and playfulness of the travellers equip them with the healing power of entertainment. Something for the play’s audience to experience as well.
Written by James Whitington in 2006, this play has the qualities of playwrights George Bernard Shaw and Bertold Brecht. It was successfully performed by The Valley Artists in Wollombi in 2009. The fifteen-member cast is made up from actors who live in Dorrigo, Bellingen and Kalang. James Whitington is a graduate of NIDA in acting and has a NSWU degree in Drama.
