    The UnTaming


    THE UNTAMING  is a format of 5 early morning classes over 5 consecutive days to help reset the body into a new way that will support you into establishing a shift in your patterns of moving and relating to the body.

    This edition of The UnTaming is dedicated to the health and strength of the bones amidst the awakening of spring; held in deep reverence to the connection between our physicality and soulful spirituality that the SheSessions foster in us.

    I’ve been developing the SheSessions over the last 7 years after I stopped teaching Tigress Yoga. It coincided with my transition into menopause; I have been exploring new ways of being with my body as the different moments of this 'heroine journey' into menopause have required other approaches to fully meet myself as the woman emerging on the other side, the Maga.

    I’m exploring what still meets me and the women I’m serving and what has changed in me and in others:

    I found that fluidity stays of major importance to meet the drying aspects that arise through the changing of the hormones and the years lived in this body, also called aging. So yes; fluidity and hydrating the different tissues in the body; the organs, the ligaments, tendons, muscles…

    I’m finding that the meeting of the emotions and feelings is paramount, specially while in the thick of the transition; so the atuning to oneself and the permission to express through sighing and sounding is really important.

    And as the flow of the energy is rather rising up once the monthly bleeding stops and the energy is being held in the womb, grounding is becoming more important, as is slowing down and replenishing; the restorative practices.

    And now the BONES; how do we best care for them, to keep them strong and elastic, to keep their hydration up. How do we nourish the blood factory deep in the marrow of the bones working at its best?

    My approach is inspired by the Taoist tradition. In this tradition the bones are very highly revered and cared for as they produce the blood which is kind of the basis of our vitality. It’s the water element which is the Kidney and Bladder meridians that govern the bones; so we’ll attend to these too.

    The Bones are also the part of our physicality that survives the longest once we’re dead and from that perspective the bones are shamanistically associated with our ancestors, the places where their bones are buried. Moving forward the bones are that part of us, that will carry our spirit into the future, in a symbolic, shamanistic way.

    The bones like impact, they like strong muscles around them and they like deep breath and meditative awareness that brings the oxygen and unconditional, loving energy from around us through the poreous skin and the poreous structure deep into the bones themselves.

    Over these 5 mornings you’ll experience a deeply feminine practice that nourishes, hydrates and strengthens your body and soul.

    The SheSessions at its core is a way to keep meeting yourself, meeting what is here right now, supporting the unraveling of the hidden parts in order to deepen into presence.

    This is for women and femmes who love moving their bodies and souls; or who desire to be initiated more deeply into the pleasure and intelligence inherent in our physicality; which is so deeply connected into our soul and psyche. It is for women in the menopausal context and it’s also open to younger women who struggle with bone density or who feel drawn to this offering.

    We’ll meet every day from 7am-9am for a practice, mediating, aligning, moving and resting. This makes about 1.5hrs of our time together and then we go into an inquiry, contemplating some questions, aspects of our life, that are touched by the practice. Friday morning, we’ll add an extra hour to reflect and share and anchor in the shifts that have been occurring during the week.
