The UnTaming; exploring the Fire
Event description
THE UNTAMING is a format of 5 early morning classes over 5 consecutive days to help reset the body into a new way, into establishing a shift in your patterns of moving and relating to the body.
6.30am - 8.30am Monday 3rd of February to Friday 8th of February
Monday 6.30 - 9.30am
Friday 6.30 - 10 am
This edition of The UnTaming is the NEW YEARS one and is dedicated to the FIRE, the Embers and the balancing it with deep REST and Rejuvenation.
Summer is the season of Fire (Heart) in the Daoist tradition and it needs to be supported by healthy and strong water (Kidneys)
I cater this vessel particularly to Women in the context of MENOPAUSE; I want to offer practices that will support women transitioning into menopause on a visceral, somatic level. We'll be exploring the range of the nervous system from up-regulation, the fire, the rage, the passion, the boundaries all the way down into deep restorative poses, supporting kidneys and adrenal system.
We'll support and nurture the conversation between your physicality and your psyche for more clarity and presence during your transition into Menopause.
Towards the end of the session we'll pair up to inquire into reflective questions to open up a deeper understanding of this Rite of Passage into menopause; time to ponder and meditate on where you're at, what works, what doesn't, who you really are past your conditioning and what is changing in you.
The first session on Monday will extend for an extra hour into a sharing circle, building and cherishing connection with women in or approaching this Metamorphosis and creating safety to go where ever we need to go during the week.
The last session on Friday will extend for an extra 1.5 hour to share and harvest the pearls we received during this week of The UnTaming.
We meet somewhere between South Golden Beach, Mullumbimby and Koonyum Range - I try to get a venue in SGB near the ocean, otherwise there are amazing venues in Mullum and Koonyum Range that are available.
The practices are held in deep reverence to the connection between our physicality and soulful spirituality; between us the human in its physical form and the energies around us, the unconditional loving chi permeating through all that is living on this planet and in this universe. I've named my practices The SheSessions.
I’ve been developing them over the last 7 years after I stopped teaching Tigress Yoga. It coincided with my transition into menopause; I have been exploring new ways of being with my body as the different moments of this 'heroine journey' into menopause have required. My guide, my North Star is set on how can I fully meet myself and care for myself in this changing physicality and this soul's roar for an empowered, caring and meaningful life.
We offer our deep respect and gratitude to the ancestors of the Bandjulang nation and its tribes; the Arakwal people in particular residing here. We offer our reverence and love to the wisdom of co-habitation, of respect and knowledge carried by the wisdom keepers past and present and future. We acknowledge that this country has never been ceded.
