Event description

Hope(less). Bitter(sweet). (Un)changed.

The Vanya Project was born out of a desire to explore a different kind of rehearsal process–one that is not confined by the time limits of a traditional, professional rehearsal timeline. Since Fall of 2024, a small and dedicated ensemble of Denver actors has met to revel in Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya under the direction of Ina Marlowe. For months, this incredible cast has deepened their relationships to the story, their characters, and one another, and they are sharing the fruits of their work for two nights only this May! Join us for our fundraising reading of this modern classic—we can’t wait to see you there!

Denver Theatre Ensemble is a small nonprofit theatre company based in Denver, Colorado. We are so excited to kick off our second season with The Vanya Project as a benefit reading to help fundraise for our upcoming productions this summer. To keep our productions and events as accessible as possible, we work off of a pay-what-you-can model for ticketing. Tickets are a suggested donation starting at $20. However, if you have the means and are so inclined, please consider giving more. 100% of your ticket sales and donations from this event will go toward compensating the artists who fuel our future performances, design, and productions that make our artist-centered ecosystem possible. And your donation is tax-deductible!
