Event description
What is The Victoria Park Writer’s Festival 2025?
The Town of Victoria Park Writer’s Festival is an opportunity to showcase the writing talent that exists in the local community—ranging from poets, fiction and non-fiction writers, social historians & narrators, and other writers of different genres. The festival will host an eclectic foray of informative sessions & creative workshops to appeal to a wide range of readers young and old as well as aspiring writers. When is the Victoria Park Writer’s Festival in 2025? It's from April 6 to 27th, 2025. There will be events during the week, evenings and weekends. Follow our page here and Instagram for more information.
Who is the organiser?
Your local organiser and facilitator for The Victoria Park Writer’s Festival is Mimma Tornatora. Mimma has lived locally in the community of Victoria Park for over 20 years. She is an active and passionate community member and a published local poet and author, teacher, editor, and facilitator. Mimma is also a published writer. One of her biggest passions and hobbies is POETRY. In fact, she founded the Victoria Park Poetry in early 2024 with meetings held monthly at the Victoria Park Library. Mimma founded the inaugural Victoria Park Writer’s Festival in 2024 which she was able to make happen through a Town of Victoria Park Arts Grant. Another successful Arts Grant obtained this year ensures that The Writer’s Festival can continue in 2025.
With the local support from the following community organisations - Town of Victoria Park, Victoria Park Community Centre and Victoria Park Centre for the Arts & the Town of Victoria Park Library, Mimma looks forward to making the writers’ festival an annual event for the local community.
What events are there to look forward to?
There will be a wide range of events during April. You can hear from local poets, workshops with established and emerging writers, children's authors and possibly an Indigenous writer.
