The conversation around working parents is often built on assumptions.

We assume mothers become less ambitious. We assume fathers don't want flexibility. We assume career progression has to slow down. We assume the policies are the problem.

But what if most of these assumptions are wrong?

Join The Village and panelists Sam Cousins, Michael Ray and Kat Francis as they share their three very different lived experiences, this discussion explores how ambition changes, survives, evolves and sometimes re-emerges after children, and what organisations continue to misunderstand about the realities of modern parenthood.

Moderated by Jason Tonelli, this honest and thought-provoking conversation brings together three parents whose personal and professional journeys challenge many of the assumptions we make about work, family and success.

Together, they'll explore the expectations placed on parents, the opportunities that are sometimes withheld in the name of support, and the realities that sit behind the labels so often attached to working mums and dads.

Because perhaps the biggest misconception of all is that becoming a parent means thinking smaller.
