We want this to be built for the community and by the community so we want to hear from you:

We are also inviting socially conscious individuals, businesses or organisations who are searching for some space to hire or lease which includes offices, meeting rooms, workshops, a theatre, retail and hospitality areas and more!

OUR BUILDING

This beautiful warehouse, located in Summer Hill, in Sydney's Inner West, has been sitting vacant for 16 years and is about to be given a $1M refurbishment by the owner. It will become a green building which will include solar panels, vertical gardens and the use of sustainable and recycled materials. 

The ground floor will be a large ethical market space, the middle floor will be an interactive, educational and creative hub and the top floor will be a space for like-minded business owners and entrepreneurs to work in an environment that is dynamic, unique and collaborative. 

Across these three levels you will know that every dollar you spend will create a positive social impact in our village, and future sister villages.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE

As individuals, facing such enormous crises in the world right now, we can tend to feel a sense of helplessness and despair. Despite our growing concerns about climate change, global conflicts, widespread inequality and our widening disconnect with one another we feel unsure exactly at how to make a difference or undo some of the damage that has been done to our planet and its inhabitants.

Our team believes the only way to move forward is to walk together, the only way to respond to the challenges we face each day is with a collective voice and the only hope we have is to join together as a unified village. Our deep sense of interconnectedness and our strong belief that we have an inate responsibility to one another and our planet is what has inspired our vision for The Village Project.  

At the heart of a village is its people - sharing their lives, experiences, resources and stories to make it a diverse hub that celebrates its shared humanity, extends kindness when there are difficult times and who, when serious challenges appear, rise to the occasion and jointly take action.   

More than fundraising, doing good deeds or getting people excited about another worthy cause, we want to invite you to reimagine what the village looks like, ask you what your role in it is and discover how together we can create a better world, village by village.

Being built for our local and global community, we offer you this space to be inspired and empowered, to collaborate and connect, to learn and grow and to partake in our collective vision that one person - you - are able to make a powerful and lasting difference.
