Stop on your way to The Vintage to join us for the grand opening of the ALPINA: 60 Years of Excellence exhibit!
On May 16, 2025 you are invited to join us for the open house to welcome The Vintage group. Be one of the first to experience the newest offering from The Ultimate Driving Museum. The ALPINA: 60 Years of Excellence exhibit features 25 exquisite ALPINAS. Beginning with vintage editions built in the early days when the company was working out of a backyard workshop in Kaufbeuren, Germany. During this time period, ALPINA was developing a power enhancing multi-carburetor unit for the BMW 1500. The exhibit leads you through the years to the modern day ALPINAS produced on the same lines as BMW automobiles. The exhibit will include motorsport, unique special editions, and the owners of these exclusive masterpieces.
Come join us and be one of the first to experience a showcase of some of the finest ALPINA vehicles. This event is a must-see for car enthusiasts. Among the 25 cars will be the new XB7 currently in production at the BMW Plant Spartanburg, located in South Carolina across the street from The Ultimate Driving Museum. Our guest speaker, Jan Chasek, will present a firsthand perspective of the build of the XB7.
On May 16, 2025 The Vintage Open House will feature;
- 25 exquisite ALPINAS from vintage, motorsports, and unique models
- A free exhibition collectible for every adult guest
- Food trucks will be on the property from 11:00am - 2:00pm
- A presentation featuring the build of the XB7 by Jan Chasek
- An amazing array of BMWs in our own parking lot
And of course, ALPINA: 60 Years of Excellence exhibition memorabilia, posters, and merchandise will all be available to feed your ALPINA and BMW obsession. Please note that ALPINA merchandise will be released closer to the exhibit opening. Check out the online gift shop HERE

Food Trucks will be serving lunch onsite. Between 11:00am and 2:00pm, you will have the ability to purchase lunch from top-quality food trucks parked onsite (lunch is not included in your admission fee). There are also several restaurants located at exits 63 and 54 on Interstate 85.
The Ultimate Driving Museum is located in Greer, SC, directly next door to the BMW Performance Center, and across the street from BMW's largest manufacturing center, BMW Plant Spartanburg. The Museum & Archive currently preserves about 80,000 BMW-related items, from cars to engines to art and literature and memorabilia. It's the largest such collection in the Americas.

Can I redeem my complimentary Open House tickets for this event?
Yes! Please email Info@bmwccafoundation.org to complete your complimentary admission for this event. We ask that you still register with us so we can count you in on all the fun!
Is there an age limit to enter the event?
All are invited. There is no age limit for this event.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We've got the only building on our street. We have plenty of parking. We will have volunteers here to show you where you can park.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Bring your enthusiasm and love for the marque! And bring your cameras...you are welcome to take all the photographs and video you want. Please, no selfie sticks or tripods inside the Museum. Pets may be brought to the property, but they are not allowed inside the building. Also, please leave large bags and backpacks outside. Only bottled water will be allowed inside the exhibit space, no other food or drink.
Is this event registration separate from my registration for The Vintage?
Yes. On this page, you will only register for The Ultimate Driving Museum's ALPINA: 60 Years of Excellence Open House on Friday, May 16, 2025 in Greer, SC.
