Healthcare is changing fast, and the decisions being made right now will shape how care is delivered for years to come. The Waiting Room Sessions brings together decision-makers across healthcare and technology to explore the issues shaping the future of care.

Each session features short, high-impact lightning talks from people working at the leading edge of change. Then comes the part that matters just as much: space to connect, challenge ideas, and build new partnerships with the people who can help turn them into action.

Hosted by the fine folk at Cyber Team, Speculo and Propagator.

On the night

Featured speaker: Mark Foster
Manager, ICT Security Services, Ministry of Health New Zealand

When a new IT system is commissioned, how do you know it is safe to switch on? Mark Foster leads ICT Security Services at the Ministry of Health, and he will share the business process his team uses to identify and manage the risks of IT systems as they come into service, known as certification and accreditation (C&A).

It is a topic that rarely gets the spotlight, yet it sits behind every digital tool a clinician or patient relies on. Mark will offer a practical, candid look at how to get risk right without slowing down the work that matters, and what decision-makers should be asking before any new system goes live.

Show and tell: Wellington health tech founders

We will also be hosting a show and tell lightning talk session with a couple of founders from Wellington's health tech startup scene. Expect a fast, hands-on look at what they are building, the problems they are solving, and the lessons they have learned along the way.

Whether you are commissioning technology, building it, or accountable for the outcomes, you will leave with ideas you can use straight away.
