The Wānaka Dog Walk
Event description
The Wānaka Dog Walk is coming to Wānaka this year and will take place on Sunday 28 February at Eely Point. We'll be meeting in the Eely Point Reserve opposite Eely Point Road (map to come) at 10.00am, then heading off on one big dog walk once everyone has had enough time to chat, mingle and mark territory.
All are welcome to attend this FREE community gathering, so don't miss Wānaka's poochie calendar event of the year!
**COMPETITIONS**
Much like last year in Queenstown, we've got two competitions running on the day and plenty of cool prizes to giveaway to lucky dogs. The competitions are:
1. Best dressed dog
2. Dog registration bingo
Prize packs include everything from vouchers and dog massages to beds, grooming sessions and plenty more.
**MORE INFORMATION**
On the day, QLDC Animal Control staff will be available to help with any microchipping questions or needs, and advise on our Dog Control Bylaw 2020. We'll also have our photobooth on site for anyone looking for a family photo with their four legged friend!
While parts of Eely Point permit dogs to be off leash, we ask that all dog walkers please remember to #TakeTheLead and keep dogs on lead at all times during the walk.
**SUPPORTERS**
Both the Queenstown and Wānaka Dog Walk wouldn't be possible without the amazing supporters who have donated goodies, gear and plenty more to be used on the day and given away. We'd like to give a massive thank you to Mates4Life, Wanaka Dog Walking, Dr Dog, The Barking Mad Dog Co, Wet Nose, Vetlife Wanaka, New World Wanaka, Flip at Remarkable Dogs, Puppy Love, Posh Paws, the Queenstown Dog Bakery and VetEnt.
