The Wanted 18 Screening
Event description
The Wanted 18 is a 2014 Palestinian-Canadian animated documentary about the efforts of Palestinians in Beit Sahour to start a small local dairy industry during the First Intifada, hiding a herd of 18 dairy cows from Israeli security forces when the dairy collective was deemed a threat to Israel's national security. We are showing this film in collaboration with the Poneke branch of Justice for Palestine.
More information about The Wanted 18, screening on the 10th of September can be found at https://www.palestinefilminstitute.org/en/pfp/archive/wanted-18.
This spring from the 28th of August to the 2nd of October we will be screening a series of excellent Palestinian films, old and new, every week at two/fiftyseven on Willis Street, with all ticket sales going to the Gazan mutual aid group The Sameer Project.
The Sameer Project is an on-the-ground aid organisation organised by Palestinians in the diaspora, which crowdfunds in order to provide tents, medical care and direct cash aid to those most affected in Gaza. They can be found on Instagram at @thesameerproject. Since this particular screening is totally free, if you want to contribute to the charity you can donate via the link that can be found on this site.
