    Zac Parish is the Founder and Director of the Awareness Academy, a training institution specializing in workplace leadership and well-being programs. His passion lies in the intricateness of the mind and emotions, exploring the dynamics of beliefs and behaviors, and addressing the impact of social and environmental conditioning. His ongoing training delves into optimum lifestyle practices emphasizing the crucial 5 Pillars of Wellness. Zac also served as a Buddhist Monk for six years, and for over two decades, has been an influential teacher in mindfulness, resilience and wellness. Zac is committed to the holistic well-being of individuals and the cultivation of mindful, compassionate and happy workplaces.

    Steve Birdsall, Project Manager, Southern Spars: 
    Steve Birdsall is a seasoned Health and Safety manager at Southern Spars with a proven track record of implementing the successful return to work programme and fostering an approach committed to the positive outcomes for the business and the wellbeing Southern Spars employees. With over 7 years’ experience within the H&S space, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Southern Spars, making him a trusted leader in the realm of workplace safety. Steve’s career journey started out as boatbuilder and through this Steve gained a good understanding for safety in the workplace. In 2014 Steve was promoted into the role of Health & Safety Coordinator and then Manager at Southern Spars. Throughout his career Steve has successfully delivered various notable achievements, one being the launch of the Southern Spars Return To Work Programme. Though analysis, planning, communication and effective culture change Steve helped lead this programme which reduced lost time injury incidents to 0 within 12 months, resulting in 600+ LTI free days and significant cost savings and improved employee commitment and morale. As the Health and Safety Manager at Southern Spars, Steve is passionate about the safety and wellbeing of the Southern Spars workforce, he is a compassionate advocate for the safety and wellbeing of others.

    Emcee: Paul Jarvie, Health and Safety Expert, EMA: 
    Paul has been with the EMA since 1988 and is currently a project leader for older workers and a strong business advocate in the Employment Relations and Human Resources space. He is a key Occupational Health and Safety expert at national policy and guidance level, having spent some 30 years in this field. Paul also served as NZ delegate at International Labour Organisation (ILO) and as expert and Committee Chair (Agriculture and Machine guarding) and is the key author to the EMA’s White Paper “Act Now, Age Later”.
