Get ready for Saturday DETENTION as John Kim Faye, accompanied by Joey “Mr. Joe” DiTullio on guitar and Andrea “Principal” Weber on cello (and a ruler if you get outta line!), creates a unique performance delivering riveting stories set to music based on his rock ’n’ roll memoir The Yin and the Yang of it All! 

Each story in this show will transport you back to the classrooms (and life lessons) of our youth.. or John’s youth anyway.

We encourage you to come dressed like you did back in your school daze. There will be an official photographer to take your “yearbook photo.” You can also bring a vintage pic for our class bulletin board. There will be special prizes and most of all, you’ll enjoy an immersive, one-of-a-kind experience.

John Kim Faye

As the lead singer and primary songwriter of the Caulfields, John Kim Faye was one of the only mixed-race Asian American frontmen to sign a major record contract in the alternative rock heyday of the 1990’s. In an era that preceded K-Pop - and even the rise of the internet - Faye’s personal journey did not lead to superstardom. Instead, The Yin and the Yang of it All is a memoir about the discovery of a voice, a tribe, and a musical ethnicity that runs far deeper than his Korean / Irish roots. 

Bookended by the loss of his father against the backdrop of his tumultuous childhood in the post-Vietnam 70’s and his mother’s tragic passing in 2012, Faye’s story weaves a tapestry of revealing moments as told from his unique perspective on the cusps of identity, race, and fame.

As a recording artist,  producer, mentor, open mic host, and recently retired songwriting professor at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Faye has seen the music industry from every conceivable angle - from the heights of major label excess to the trenches of DIY guerrilla warfare. His various musical iterations - the Caulfields, IKE, John Faye Power Trip, John & Brittany, and his solo work - have yielded over 150 recorded songs (8+ hours of music), song placements in film and television, substantial commercial and satellite radio airplay

Erin Fox

“Erin Fox has been known around the local music sphere for years, performing alongside some of Philly’s indie/alternative greats. Nevertheless, her most impressive contribution to the scene has got to be her personal work. Playing with her accompanying band, The Hounds, Fox has thus far released two full-length albums and two EPs. Each of which details just how and why she’s become a standout in the local circuit, further supported by her live performances.” ~ WXPN 

Erin spent the past two years as the primary lead vocalist for The Rock Orchestra - a London- based touring unit that plays classical music arrangements of alternative / heavy rock songs. The music video of Erin’s performance of the Cranberries classic “Zombie” has over 13 million views on YouTube. 

Her new full length album “Uprooting” dropped in May of 2026, and its singles “Raised” (released on International Women’s Day) and the title track were both chosen as Philly Local Pick of the Day on WXPN. 

Erin’s new collab single with John Faye (“NVR SAY NVR BOUT NOTHIN”) - the follow-up to their 2025 single and video “Swing and a Miss” - will be out in Fall 2026.

By Car or By Train

The East Falls Train Station is a short walk from the Fallser Club. Parking in East Falls is no problem! There is ample free on-street parking near the East Falls train station driveway at 3610 Midvale Ave and a paid municipal lot three blocks away at 4100 Ridge Ave.  Midvale Ave and Ridge Ave are both well-lit!
