Join Neotectonic Vocal Ensemble for an afternoon of music that tracks the changing of the seasons from winter into spring, from the chill of Morten Lauridsen's Mid-Winter Songs to the shimmering warmth of David N. Childs' Fill My Life with Spring.

The Expected Season will also feature a crop of folk songs, including Robert Wiremu's expansive arrangement of Hine e hine, Hugo Alfvén's arrangement of the Swedish folksong Uti vår hage, and the beloved American folk song Shenandoah arranged by Bob Chilcott.

Neotectonic Vocal Ensemble (est. 2021) is a group of old friends and new faces brought together by a love for choral music. The ensemble performs several times a year across Tāmaki Makaurau and has previously presented repertoire ranging from Byrd and Victoria to Alex Taylor and Meredith Monk. They are directed by Blake Scanlen.
